I somehow accidentally deleted my lower menu bar which allows me to switch from open/running tasks/programs. It also had a trash icon on the far right. How can I get the lower menu bar working again ?

I had a menu bar like on Microsoft's Windows which allows you to switch from active windows. I am still a novice to this OS. I am using Linux Unbuntu 10.04 LTS. I do not understand what you are asking for. PLS help. I can not minimize my active windows without losing them out of sight. Thanks.

Just use terminal and you'll learn it. There are sample commands for lots of things in guides online. There may also be snippets in the Ubuntu Manual.
