side panel, top bar, everything has just dissapeared

I have been logging in to the gnome-classic interface, instead of ubuntu 3d recently, due to lag related issues now, when I try logging into ubuntu 3D there is no side panel or top bar, it looks like this: http://www.flickr.com/photos/75439191@N02/6842344709/in/photostream/lightbox/
Please help, I have absolutely no idea why this has happened, the problem is limited to my account, I tried on another account and everything was fine

It's solved, in a fit of mad panic, I repeatedly logged in and out of several ui's running the unity command in the terminal, I'm a bit of a noob at this kind of thing, so I have no idea what I actually did, but, It's fixed!
