Cannot access CLI terminal in new installation of 13.04

Having installed Ubuntu 13.04 alongside of Ubuntu 12.04 LTS there are no top and side panels and no visible way of accessing the CLI terminal to run commands to install the unity desktop.
Kindly help if possible, please.

I looked it up and got help using the command: sudo apt-get install gnome-session-fallback.
Then logged outand logged back using Gnome (fallback).
