attivare effetti desktop per schermo 16-9 acer

quando cerco di attivare gli effetti desktop, mi dà questa risposta:"l' estensione Composite non è disponibile"!!!

Hai una scheda grafica ATI?
Se si prova a disabilitare l'estensione Composite. Per far questo, edita come superuser il tuo /etc/X11/xorg.conf file e aggiungi queste linee in fondo:

Section "Extensions"
 Option "Composite" "Disable"
