How Do I Enable Dialup in Ubuntu 7.10??

Asked by taurus

Guys, I've tried to enable dialup through Network Manager and when I use the dialup, it just keeps connecting and I don't get any dial tone. I also installed GNOME-PPP and it fails to connect. I enabled the restricted driver which i think has to do with the dialup driver. Anyway, it's important that I get dialup. What must I do?

I don't have much experience with dialup but I believe providing your modem model would help...
If it's integrated (laptop...) use the "lspci" command. It will display info about hardware.

arekkusu, I finally solved my dialup issue by instaling a file from the linmodem.org website. Thanks!
