ubuntu 11.10 unity screen brightness control fail

hi experts,

i'm on hp pavilion dv6, i5, 4gb ram, ubuntu 11.10 unity

the screen brightness keeps getting set to 100% after restart, it does not remember the setting i leave it at.

my question is, should i report this as a bug?

There're some bugs each with different hardware and the issue vice versa, in case report it separately.
