I cannot learn how to navigate the ubuntu trail. I am trying to install Flash Player 7 for Linux in Dapper, but being a newbie, the navigation thing in the command line does not come natural. I have the installer open on my desktop (install_flash_player_7_linux) and have tried navigating to it, following the instructions on the Adobe site, and then entering the install command (./flashplayer-installer). The closest I have come, where the Terminal app relates that "/home/mokelvey/Desktop" is a directory does not get me to the installer. When I enter "/install_flash_player_7_linux" after "/home/mokelvey/Desktop" the Terminal declares there is no such file or directory. (/tmp/install_flash_player_7_linux" also gets me to a directory, but the install command doesn't work there, either). But the GUI points to the installer being at /home/mokelvey/Desktop/install_flash_player_7_linux. Nowhere, can I find an example of what the path is supposed to look like. I've tried a million combinations and nothing has worked. Does anyone have a useful clue they could pass along?
Thanks, mokelvey
