How do I install a printer on Linux?

Asked by phil.ellis63

I am trying to simply install an Epson printer on my Linux system. I have the CD, it's in the drive and I have clicked on the icons but nothing is installing. I am new to this OS.

The CD is for Windows and will not work in Linux.

Epson does provide some support for Linux.

If your printer does not work when plugged in and powered on, then you will have to state the model of the printer and I will look it up for you to see which driver is needed.

Use > System > Administration > Printing. There you can install your printer and you can also print a test page.

Hope it heklps.

I've made too many attempts to use system>Administration>Printing and they have given up on me. It will not acknowledge the fact that I have replaced the cartridge and that it should work again. But it doesn't. And Printing says I made too many tries that failed.

Can you help with this problem?
