restricted drivers not working

hey.

Im trying to turn on the restricted drivers for nvidia graphic drivers. and when i go to enable through the system settings. it says:
The software source for the package
nvidia-glx-new
is not enabled.

And it wont work. Can some one help me out Im very new and dont know what im doing.

my pc is: amd 64 3800+
                1gb ram
                 nvidia 6800 ultra
                 200gb HDD

if you goto system -> administration and software sources you can enable all the different sources, you should tick all the boxes in the first tab (at least the restricted one) then do sudo apt-get update in a terminal. now the restricted drivers manager should work.
