Still being developed?

Asked by Ingo Gerth

A)
Is this package still being developed?

B)
Will it be default in 12.04 or will we have to live with this major inconsistency for the next five years?

Canonical really needs to push for consistency. I was hoping for this to happen with 12.04, the 'pixel perfect' release as they call it.

It is in the repos, but will it be default?

Who cares, if it isn't installed just install it. 'default' doesn't mean a lot at all in Linux....

First of all I hate it if people treat me like I am dumb. Second, it does make a difference because this is an LTS releas and it would mean that this package would be supported for the next five years.

It is in the repos and is fully supported. Being in the default install doesn't make it any more or less supported than ANY other package in the official repositories...

I never said or implied you were dumb in any way and if it came across then I apologise.

Can you help with this problem?
