Not the same result , on multi-cores processor

Asked by Alain SAURAT

Whe I run 'lshw' on an AMD FX 8cores machine, the capabilities of each cores are differents.
it says "size: 1400MHz" and "capacity: 3100MHz" for cpu0 but "size: 1400MHz" and "capacity: 1400MHz" for the 7 others ...

Is it normal or do I have a kernel problem ?

The output of is a bit misleading. Simply explained it means, that most cores are idle and running at a lower speed. One core it operating and runs at a higher rate. Most likery this is the core lshw is running on at the moment.
