what is the hardware requirement to install MAAS

I was trying to configure MAAS setup on couple of old servers which does not support PXE boot. I installed the MAAS server and tried to add nodes by booting up physical server through same bootable 12.10 cd. Nodes identify MAAS server and shut himself down at the end of configuration process. But MAAS server does not show any physical nodes in his web UI.
So could the problem be a hardware issue as its does not support for PXE ? Does servers need to support for Wake-on-LAN too?
Please post minimal hardware reqiurement to setup MAAS.
