mkfs.ubifs is broken

Asked by Markus Mayer

On Ubuntu 20.04, mkfs.ubifs is broken:

$ mkfs.ubifs -U -D misc/devtable.txt -r output/arm64/target -o tmp/ubifs.img -m 1 -e 65408 -c 2047
mkfs.ubifs: ubifs-utils/mkfs.ubifs/fscrypt.h:166: inherit_fscrypt_context: Assertion `0' failed.
Aborted (core dumped)

Upstream has this fix:

http://git.infradead.org/mtd-utils.git/commitdiff/1709a628dfc8

It also works to add "-DNDEBUG" to the CPPFLAGS when building mtd-utils.

I uploaded the crash using ubuntu-bug. It tells me that it uploaded the crash.

I have an ID file:

$ sudo cat _usr_sbin_mkfs.ubifs.1002.uploaded
701fac16-100f-11ec-a7a9-fa163e102db1

But https://errors.ubuntu.com/user/701fac16-100f-11ec-a7a9-fa163e102db1 tells me that no bugs have been reported.

No idea what to make of this.

https://errors.ubuntu.com/?package=mtd-utils&period=month

It seems that the upload to errors.ubuntu.com was successful.
What was meant, however, is creating a bug report on https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mtd-utils and not an upload to errors.ubuntu.com

Can you help with this problem?
