How to open file from nautilus with avidemux?

Asked by Rocko

In earlier versions of Ubuntu, I could right-click on a file in nautilus and select 'Open with other application' and then select an application via a browser, eg /usr/bin/avidemux. Alternatively, I could do this from the Properties / Open With dialog. Nautilus would then remember the association.

However, in Precise there is no option to browse to an application and avidemux is not shown in the suggested list of applications.

So how do I open the file with avidemux from nautilus in Precise?

OK, I reported bug #984930, but I don't hold great hopes of anyone seeing it before the final release of Precise.

Can you help with this problem?
