Ubuntu 9.04 server no network

Asked by dehoover

I upgraded from Ubuntu 8.04 to 9.04 and lost my network and internet. I am running static IP address so no Dhcp. I cannot ping my gateway or ping my server from a outside source. I thought I did the setup the same as 8.04 but no luck. So I reloaded 8.04 again and works great.
So I dont know what I am doing wrong

thank you

Can you paste the output of your /etc/network/interfaces file?

Then, paste the static IP adress, gateway, broadcast and DNS addresses of your server. You can edit the interfaces file and enter these information.

Can you help with this problem?

Provide an answer of your own, or ask dehoover for more information if necessary.
