How do I enable pidgin mail notifications with notify-osd? Is this feature available yet in Jaunty?

Are you using the latest version of Pidgin? upon adding your account there is already an option.. Try going to Accounts --> Add/Edit. Edit your mail account. In the options there should be a check box that says something along the lines of "New Email Alerts".

4 years after the initial answer, unfortunately, it's still not implemented. I don't have any popup notification while receiving e-mails (on Gmails - my gmail account is registered properly on pidgin though).
Right now, I'm wandering the net searching answers...
