Hi,

You can follow this tutorial:

http://www.howtoforge.com/how-to-install-openoffice-3.0.0-on-ubuntu-8.04

To download the latest OpenOffice.org version, you can download it from http://www.openoffice.org/

The newest version will be installed in /opt, you can then add entries in the Office menu under Applications or create a launcher.

Thanks, Vu. But do I have first to uninstall OpenOffice? If the answer will be yes: how can I do that? Thanks.

No, you are not obliged to remove OOo 2.4.1 which is the version going along with Ubuntu 8.04.

You will be able to run both OOo versions as you wish.

All you need to do is to create a specific launcher (or a menu entry) for OOo 3.1.1 at your convenience. This should be explained in the tutorial.

The OpenOffice-3.2 is been released you can download the Linux 32 or 64 bit DEB from here:

http://download.openoffice.org/other.html

and try to install

Try to follow http://www.howtoforge.com/how-to-install-openoffice-3.0.0-on-ubuntu-8.04 but obviously you must use different file names...
