copying from PDF files

How to copy images and text from a pdf file in ubuntu? In windows we have the text and image tool to select a particular area and paste in word processor? Is that possible in ubuntu also? If so how to copy images and texts

Just select it and right click to copy, like you using windows

With most PDFs you should just be able to use CTRL+A and then CTRL+C to select and copy. If the PDF is protected it may not work, but I would expect protected PDFs to not work in windows either.

Its not possible to select a particular part and copy it from pdf. Either we have to select fully or none. It is possible in windows.

Try loading Foxit on your comp, it does allow you to copy any specific selection.Most of the time the document reader with ubuntu does allow to copy specific selection.
