When trying to download & install something it asks for a password. What is it?

Hi Maria,

this is the password you gave when you installed Ubuntu. Your user's password.

To install programs (system modification) you have to become the admin , for safety reasons all the time you are in the system you are like a simple user , but with the "power" to become an admin wherever you like by giving your password.

If you lost your password or you don't remember it , here exist a procedure on how to reset it
