Adding local mirrors to the Ubuntu.mirors file

I have a local mirror that I maintain at the office. To allow users to configure the mirror I add an entry to the file:
/usr/share/python-apt/templates/Ubuntu.mirrors
on each of their machines.

However when python-apt updates the file my changes are removed. Is there another file I can edit to have my mirror added to the list of available mirrors without being removed by software updates?

Has some lines you can add in /etc/apt/sources.list
