Rhythmbox Ubuntu One Music Store plugin not in Ubuntu 11.10

Asked by Dexter Smith

WHY IS THE PLUGIN NOT IN UBUNTU 11.10? NOT EVERYONE USES BANSHEE!!! I STILL PREFER TO USE RHYTHMBOX AND AM HAPPY AT BUY MY MUSIC FROM THE STORE. I DON'T WANT TO BE OPENING BANSHEE JUST TO BUY MUSIC THEN HAVE RHYTHMBOX IMPORT MY MUSIC MANUALLY. I JUST WANT TO KNOW WHY THE PLUGIN IS NOT IN 11.10 AND WILL THEY CONTINUE SUPPORTING THE PLUGIN .

I, too prefer Rhythmbox to Banshee. It does a much better job of handling m3u playlists. I was quite disappointed to see this plugin removed from the distribution. I will probably file a question on the main Ubuntu site, as well.

Canonical dosn't maintain the rhythmbox as it isn't there officically supported player. You can try looking in to porting the old plugin in to the current version of Rhythmbox, if it works well I'm sure it could be include it in the universe or main repository.

Also this isn't the place for complaints or threads.
