Autoshutdown PC after song/playlist has finished possible?

Asked by turbooster

Hi!

Is there a way to make the Computer shutdown after a song has finished playing?
I'm listening to songs when I go to sleep and don't want my Computer to be on after songs have been played

Is there a plugin?
If not where do I post a feature request?

Thanks
Turbooster

It is not possible, but you can shutdown the PC after a while.
Open a terminal and type one of those commands

sudo shutdown 30 (shutdown the PC after 30 minutes)
sudo shutdown 22:30 (shutdown the PC at 22:30)

Obviously, you can change 30 or 22:30 how you prefer.

So, there's no solution. You can register a blueprint to suggest this feature.

I think such a feature would be very useful. I listen to music as I go to sleep, too.

Rhythmbox has a power management option to "Inhibit Power Manager from suspending the machine while playing" -- if Rhythmbox is finished playing, and I have my computer set to hibernate after 45 minutes of activity, shouldn't it hibernate at most 45 minutes after playing has finished? I tried it and it didn't work, so my computer was on all night. Is this a bug?
