Simple Scan is not recognising my Epson ET-2500, but it prints OK

Simple Scan says " failed to scan. No scanner available. Please connect a scanner"
The printer Epson ET-2500 prints fine and it has scanned OK in the past.
I have updated the software.

Did you install the driver which is available from http://support.epson.net/linux/imagescanv3.php?version=1.3.26

Thanks for the info - I could never find Ubuntu drivers from Epson and they didn't seem very interested, but I have installed the driver this works fine. It is not as good as the windows version, which allows multiple pages to pdfs rather than each page being a separate PDF, but does work.
Simple Scan now deleted.
