Skype Video not working on Ubuntu 10.10

I have Ubuntu 10.10 and I got skype, the other person can see me but i can not see them, but i can hear them. I want a fix is there anyone who can help?

This is probably a Skype setting and not Ubuntu.

nope, I downloaded skype check all my settings and the video doesnt work, even when i do the test its just a black screen

where did you get it from? i suggest you get it from the repository by enabling the partner repos in software sources. after installing it from the repo, there's a wrapper script for it that would enable your webcam under skype.. you can run it by invoking it's filename: skype-wrapper. press ALT + F2 then type skype-wrapper
