Ubuntu 10.10 need simply software to correct text in a picture

Asked by peter

Hello

I have a picture filled with text. But unfortunately I wrote typing errors.

GIMP is for me to difficult to correct them. Can I use another program - a simple one? Thanks in advance.

GNU Paint (gpaint) is in the Software Center. It's pretty simple.

I could not find out how I can change one character. Do you have an idea? Thanks.

The "text" no longer exists to the computer as such. It is simply pixels. You have to manually draw over the text. There is no longer any information stored under the text, so that is gone -- you have to make that back up (it might be easy if it is a plain background, or harder if it is a photograph).

the reason for this is that the image only stores "raster" data:
