cddvd player: installed vlc, where do I find VLC?

I recieved an answer to my problem. The answer was in VLC click file -->play disk. My problem now is I am new to Ubuntu and Linux and do not understand the answer. Where do I find VLC?

install vlc from "ubuntu software center". type vlc in the search pane and install the app. you can also install vlc from the terminal by typing "sudo apt-get install vlc" it will prompt for admin password. type it and it will download and install vlc.
