stress-ng
Hello all,
I wanted to ask you if it is suitable to run stress-ng with another test like cyclic test. My objective is to stress my system while it is executing other things in paralell. I thought that i found the proper command line by it appears that stress-ng is more like a stressed application in itself and not a stressor for other applications. I want to run random stressors from the classes io, cpu, interrupt, memory, cpu-cache and scheduler.
I would like to find a solution for running it and ending it as soon as cyclictest ends. I'm doing a benchmarking of different multicores and i would like to have the same conditions while running my tests on different plateforms.
This is the command line that I'm using but as I explained it's not practical.. everytime my cyclictest or my unixbench ends i have to stop stress-ng manually.
#!/bin/bash
#Stress-ng
cd stress-ng/
for each in io cpu interrupt memory cpu-cache scheduler
do
./stress-ng --sequential 0 --class $each --aggressive --timeout 10s --timestamp --times --tz --perf --yaml $each
mv $each ../My_Test_
done
Thanks all :)
