It asks for [sudo] password

i was trying to install a game what do i do?what i did was press enter and really fast enter the pass because it gives you no time to put any thing in help pls

That is a normal message if you entered an incorrect password, 3 wrong tries and it quits.

Make it executable:

chmod +x tremulous-1.1.0-installer.x86.run

Then install:

sudo sh ./tremulous-1.1.0-installer.x86.run

Be sure to input the correct password:

tremulous 1.1.0 is in the natty repos. Why not just use software centre??

Actionparsnip what is thei you are talking about i new to ubutu linux for that matter. Explane this to me please.

What action was saying is that the game tremulous is in the ubuntu software repository.

Go to the applications-ubuntu software centre, and in the search box type 'tremulous'. That will bring up the application. Then click on the 'install' button, enter your correct password, and it will install.

In future, if you want software I suggest you search in software centre, it may already be there.
