What is the maximum persistance disk storage limit for /var/log/journald dir in systemd 237 version ?

In my ubuntu 18.04.6 server, i am not getting journal logs for more than "1 day ago" only seeing 6 hours logs.

systemmaxfiles count is also not getting increase above 31 files.

Below are my journad.conf configuration.

[Journal]
Storage=persistent
Compress=yes
ForwardToSyslog=false
ForwardToKMsg=false
SystemMaxFileSize=250M
SystemMaxFiles=300
RateLimitInterval=0
RateLimitBurst=0

Seems to be a good guide. Backup the current config file before updating it so you can roll back easily
