How to set font size on new mail with non-HTML mode

Asked by Frank Lanitz

Using thunderbird 18 I'm not able to set font size for the editor window of creating a new mail if using non-HTML (plain text) mails only. How can I do this?

I don't use Thunderbird myself but I have come across a discussion here
http://thunderbirdtweaks.blogspot.co.uk/2012/02/font-sizes.html

Apparently there is an addon to change settings here
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/thunderbird/addon/theme-font-size-changer/?src=collection&collection_id=35816d23-50da-46d4-b65f-7180f4c47dec

Note: As you are sending plain text this change is only for your editor. That is the font size seen by people receiving emails from you is not set by you but by their e-mail client.

Hope this helps

The addon is cool, but seems to change all fonts beside of the editor window. Maybe a bug inside Thunderbird core itself?

The blogpost seems only to talk about HTML-mails btw. As its fundamentally wrong to create HTML-mails .... ;)

Can you help with this problem?
