totem package

downloading videos

i downloaded some gstreamers along time ago for my totem movie player and is told me i can only download clips like mpg but i know there is more things out there but i dont know why i can only get mpg files and if i can get more then that would i have to get more softwere for it

i can only get mpg files from the internet and theres more then mpg files and were do i have to go to get the softwere

What you have to do is try play the different files like avi.. etc.
Then Totem will open the plugin finder and find the codec to play that format.
