New Ubuntu installation (10.10) but it could not Shut Down or Restart

Asked by Blucobalto25

Hi, I have just installed Ubuntu 10.10 in a new Acer Veriton N281G with Linux Linpus pre-installed. I went for the full disk option using a usb device. This is my problem:

- I can use the OS, including installation o new programs from the software center.
- There is no possibility to restart the computer or to Shut down it. When I click on the Shut down button it remains the ubuntu purple screen and nothing more happen

The only way to shut down the pc is forcing it with the main start button on the pc

When I try to switch on the computer again a strange messages appear, somethin like:

Fatal error ... could not load lib modules ... number of the library

Thank you in advance for your help

"something like:

Could you report more precisely at which step of boot occur these messages and report them pore precisely.
For BIOS, see with actionparsnip.
