Failed to mount '/dev/sda1': Operation not permitted
The NTFS partition is in an unsafe state. Please resume and shutdown
Windows fully (no hibernation or fast restarting), or mount the volume
read-only with the 'ro' mount option.

what can I do to acces the ntfs patition? Please kindly help me........

Hi there,

Thank you so much for your reply. I tried your method, it was giving a message that I don't have administrator privilege even though I am the administrator. So, what I did was I ran the live ubuntu usb and used the file manager to open the partitions and it worked. I restarted ubuntu on my hdd it worked like a baby after that.

Thank you once again for your quick reply which gave me a idea to try something different.

cheers.
