Is a ufw reload necessary after adding a rule?

Asked by Paul

I'm using a script to wget a list of IP addresses from a cloud provider and add any new IP addresses to ufw. The script is cron run weekly.
Is it necessary to reload ufw after adding new 'allow' rules?
I've tried it, and it appears to dynamically enforce the rule without a reload, but reading the ufw man page, it say's "ufw will not flush the chains when adding or removing rules".

Could you clarify please.

Yes or the configuration won't be reread. It's pretty standard for all services
