its the panels for unity in ubuntu 11.04 that have disappeared.
however, ive managed to avoid the problem by logging in with 'ubuntu classic' at the log in screen.

still, it would be nice to have the option of unity.

Unity in Natty 11.04 has only a left panel. The top bar on screen is a mixture of window title (when mouse is outside top of screen) and application menu (when mouse is at top of screen). Do you talk of this ?

yes its the launcher at the left hand side thats missing. when i log in with unity, i get a blank desktop. even the terminal wont open (ctr + alt + t).

its not essential for me to find a way to reset this though cause im just using ubuntu classic. but it seems some other people are having the same trouble.

it could be something to do with the desktop cube, since it broke after i enabled that.

You are the second one with issues with desktop cube on unity.

The same problem. After activation of desktop cube left and top panels are gone. I've tried to reset everything, but it doesn't work. Can't figure out how to uninstall compiz...

Restart, login to gnome classic (ubuntu classic), open compiz settings and reset everything. No need to remove compiz, I don't even know whether you can remove compiz as unity is based on it...

Can you help with this problem?
