¿no more able to start twice the same program?

after updating to 11.04 I am no more able to sart the same program twice:

this anoys me with the terminal program as I am no more able to look at a man page and execute in another terminal

I am no more able to start twicw cinecutie or openshot to copy from one to annother

question:
1 ¿is there a solution?
2 if not ¿how can I downgrade to the nearest version alowing this?

can open multiple instances by
1) click "center button" of mouse in the icon in the side panel "Launchpad"
2) drill down into the screens for all applications and select it there (very tedious)

Took me a long time to find how I can open multiple instances of anything (both terminal and editor).
