I lost the menu bar with history & file, etc. How do I get it back?

Asked by cynthia c whatley

I have a Linix (Lynix-?) operating system in my computer. One day the menu bar on the top disappeared, so I can't hit 'file' or 'edit', 'history' et. Please tell me how to quickly get it back. Also, how do I erase history for days before today? -Thanks! Personally answer please! I don't want to read a bunch of paragraphs!! Thanks!

The menu bar should be in the top panel. Give focus to a window and move your cursor to the top left of the panel.

Erase History, go to the cog at the top right and choose System Settings. Then Personal > Privacy.

You can also use Alt+F to show "File" and Alt+E to show "Edit".
