Can I launch an application in Precise Pangolin without using the application launcher?

in version 10 I could locate and launch most installed applications using only the mouse. The equivalent in Windows XP was ( for example) "Start>All Applications>Games>Solitaire"

For most applications, the application launcher version 12 (Precise Pangolin) seems to require me to type part of the file name.

Is there a menu option in Precise Pangolin that leads to applications that aren't locked to the Launcher?

click dash icon, click the second icon at the bottom to show all applications and expand installed applications. Those are all tyhe apps. Much faster to type

Try ungluing your hand from the mouse :)
