gui - kan man ændre det 7 can that be changed?

hi

I am a newbee to Ubuntu 12.01.
I would like to know if it is posible to make an add to the gui. I prefere to have the navigationsw/program line at the bottom not at the top.
Further I prefere to autohide it. That was posible in version 10, so hope it can be in 12 too.

I believe that is hard coded but if you use Gnome Shell instead of Unity, it can be moved according to:
http://askubuntu.com/questions/155319/how-can-i-move-the-panel-from-the-top-to-the-bottom
