unable to apply themes in ubuntu 12.10 (64bit)

>installed 'human theme' from synaptic, but unable to apply it from the appearence menu.

[ installed ubuntu a day before on my dual booted toshiba p755-s5215]

the desktop is then Gnome, Unity is nothing but a shell for Gnome. If you install gnome-tweak-tool you can set the theme.

so i need to use gnome-tweak-tool rather than ubuntu tweak. okay
just asking, why didnt appearance menu add new themes after i install it
