Oneiric alpha2 update-manager wasn't able to install ubuntu-desktop

While making a distribution upgrade required by update-manager, the following message appeared: "update-manager wasn't able to install ubuntu-desktop"

I am going to move this over to the support area. Try running the update-manager again as soon as you have available updates. See if it still produces this error.

Open a terminal by pressing ctrl+alt+t the type:

sudo apt-get -f install
sudo apt-get --fix-missing install
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install dist-upgrade

please give your user password when requested you will not see any screen feedback when you type the passwd, so type then press enter...

Please report only errors here...

No errors so far.

marcobra I think your last command is not correct, it should be 'sudo apt-get dist-upgrade'.

Seems your apt pc is working fine and your Ubuntu is fully updated/upgraded, so, which error you get get if you try:

sudo apt-get install ubuntu-desktop

I get no error, ubuntu-desktop is already the newest version.
