FYI: I've tried sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade and sudo update-manager -d The latter (sudo update-manager -d
) still gives the beta warning. I have attempted both main servers and US servers at 7:19 AM UTC time.

I think that you have to wait the afternoon (15.00-17.00). I suggest to you to update the site http://www.ubuntu.com/ and when you see the new release I strongly suggest to you to download it with the .torrent file because the server will be very very busy!!

If you want to update from 11.04 I strongly suggest to you to wait a few days becuase on every new release the connection is very very slow because the servers are busy.

Thank you eNry.

I know they do freezes the day before at 00:00 UTC so I wondered if it would be released the same.
It does look like they update around 15:00 because the last daily cdimage was updated on 12-Oct-2011 15:14 with the maniefiest starting about an hour earlier.

According to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/OneiricReleaseSchedule "Freezes normally happen at 1200 UTC time."
So I can imagine that the publication time for the new release might be noon UTC.
