Search for Updates moves very fast back and fourth

Asked by Shanekpiper

Ubuntu 12.10 - I think the search for updates progress bar that bounces back and fourth at the begining moves far to fast. It could cause issues for people with photo sensitive epilepsy. Is there a way that it could be slowed down or changed.

I think is not possible to change... Please fill an update-manager bug...

You can easily use a terminal to upgrade your system open a terminal by pressing

ctrl + alt + t

then type:

sudo apt-get update; sudo apt-get upgrade; sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

and type your password when requested, you do not will have any chars back to screen when you type the password, so type it and then press enter.

Answer Y to upgrade...

Then when you want to check and to upgrade your system press...

ctrl + alt +t

and then press the ↓↑ keyboard keys to browse into terminal command history and press enter when you want to execute the wanted already typed command
