wide screen resolution issue

Asked by Patrik Rydberg

On my laptop which has a 15.4" widescreen the ubuntu logo and the text "ubuntu" is stretched sideways to match the screen size which of course makes the logo no longer round and the text modified in the same way. Is this a usplash issue perhaps?

usplash uses a standard resolution for displaying its graphics so it sounds that your lcd screen is dyanmically stretching the image it recevives (which is generally 4:3 ratio) to a widescreen ratio (12:9 or so). i am not sure you will find an easy answer. the current implimentation of usplash (edgy) only offers a 4:3 ratio but i beleve that it will change in future versions.

all in all its normal so you don't need to worry and one day it will look better for you :)
