Accessing usb with VirtualBox and Windows XP

I am using Virtual Box and Windows XP. How do I get XP to recognize the usb ports and the flash card reader port?

Are you using virtualbox or virtualbox-OSE?

If the latter try here http://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Linux_Downloads

The OSE version does not support usb.

Thanks Ian. I am not sure of the version. To be on the right side of this issue, I will re-install with the non-OSE version and see what happens.

You can mark the /media and /home folders as accessible from the virtualbox as "drives" you can then mount these "drives" and access the USB. It's not very graceful but could be a solution.
