8.04: xboard / Chess

Asked by peter

Hi

I've downloaded xboard from Synaptic and it's installed. But if I click the chess symbol to play a game, I'll get the following error message:

Failed to start first chess program gnuchessx on localhost. No such file or directory.

And the chess game is displayed. But i can't play.

What can I do? Thanks a lot.
Peter

Did you verify that gnuchess or phalanx have been properly installed with xboard? (The AI that is needed) If they are not, try installing one of them.
