how to enable nickserv registration

I believe the command is /msg nickserv register (Name) (Password) but I'm not sure

Hello Richard:

This is the command to register your nickname:

/msg NickServ register [password]

and to identify:

/msg NickServ identify [password]

I got it finally... correct way is /msg nickserv register password e-mail address.

If you are on IRSSI its

/SET nick <nickname>

In Xchat you can change the order of choice of the nicks in the network list at startup of xchat..
