You need to disable the onboard video card, then setup the driver as normal. This is done in BIOS.

Disabling the on board video card does not help . If this is done Ubuntu itself does not boot up .

is this a clean install? if your upgrading perhaps and know a little line code you could use the

## (cd/)## lftp

ive never actually attempted yet you can always read a bit too

otter@pond:~$ man lftp

as to why your second card isnt working im assuming its not being found you may want to check your output from

lshal

see if it looks like the computer is talking to it

This is a clean install and not an upgrade . Ubuntu does detect my Nvidia graphics card , shows the driver and when i am asked to restart after installation/activation of the driver, the display goes blank , even tough i changed my video output frm motherboard VGA port to my graphics card VGA part (from the BIOS).

maybe setting the x11 config before you reboot will stop it from happening

im not sure what you'de need to enter however from your terminal

this should bring you the script in gedit

In a Terminal enter sudo gedit /etc/X11/xorg.conf

Can you help with this problem?
