Remove messenging menu from the indicator plugin in Xubuntu

Asked by Danillo

Hi! I would like to remove the messenging menu (the one for Pidgin, with the letter icon) from the indicator plugin in the top panel in Xubuntu 11.04 since I don't use and it takes important space from the panel. All I seem able to do is to remove the whole indicator plugin, and with that I lose the sound and network icons. How can I remove just the messenging menu without losing the other icons in the indicator plugin? Thanks!

Do you mean the envelope icon in the panel?

Have you even tried to find guides on this? There are hundreds....

Oh, I'm sorry for that! I did look for it before asking here, but now I see I was probably using the wrong words, as I was searching for something specific to xfce and Xubuntu. It never occurred to me that this was just a simple gnome applet and that I should look for a gnome guide. Sorry once again for wasting your time with a newbie xfce question and thank you for your atention!
