Hi, click at the icon at top right and click at 'System Settings'. Here is an image:

Or open a terminal and run:
gnome-control-center --overview

The article talks about:
< If you upgraded your Ubuntu system to 11.10 and are in the Classic desktop ... >

Are you in gnome-fallback mode aka Gnome classic then what is unclear in the article?

If you're in Unity session, system settings can be found on top panel right hand corner (tool symbol), which open gnome-control-center. The icon of system-settings is also in the launcher on the left side of screen.

To access system tools for system administration in Ubuntu, you have several options. First, you can utilize the Dash or Search Bar by pressing the "Super" key (often the Windows key) and typing the name of the tool you need, such as "Terminal" or "Disk Utility." Additionally, check under the "Applications" menu for categories like "System Tools" or "Utilities." Alternatively, explore the "Settings" menu where many administration tools are located, including options for system settings and preferences. For advanced users, the terminal provides access to administrative tasks using commands like sudo. If you still can't find a specific tool, consider creating a custom launcher. While older resources may not reflect recent interface changes, exploring current documentation or community forums can provide updated guidance tailored to your version of Ubuntu.
